Springtime Pretty

Hi everyone!  How are you on this lovely day?  Well, yes, we have snow on the ground here in the Midwest again, but I can't help but think about Springtime being right around the corner!  Today on the Just Imagine blog we all are sharing some Spring inspiration and better yet....there is a sale on the punches we used to create them!  Here is the card I'm sharing:

I'm completely in love with this butterfly border punch (#901)....it creates such a perfect Springtime lacy look!  And the pastel palette of the Doodlebug Spring Things is a perfect compliment!

To create the layers I punch out and trimmed the pieces, then glued them to a strip of the pastel background paper from the Spring Things 6x6 paper pad and then glued them on in layers as you see here:

Remember, this is the SAME PUNCH I used on my Springtime card post a few days ago to create this doily:

So are you ready for Spring?  What kind of Springtime crafts are your favorite?  Make sure to stop by the Just Imagine Crafts store....they have so many pretty punches and you can use them so many different ways!

Thanks for stopping by today!

It's Almost Spring!

Here in IL we've had a tease this past week....60-70 degree temps that have us all thinking Spring!  But today....cold, rainy/sleet, gray....I'm just thankful it's not snow!  But after a bout with the flu these past two weeks....I'm ready to turn the corner and think sunny thoughts....so I'm sharing a pretty spring card created using Just Imagine Kreaxions punch #901, and the new Spring Things collection from Doodlebug!

The sweet little doily with the butterflies and flowers goes perfectly with the Spring Things collection, and is super easy with these fun punches!  You use Just Imagine's star stencil octagon template:

....trace on paper (I used plain white cardstock) then just punch each "point" using the "A" guide you get with your punch.  There are several wonderful videos out there that show just how easy this is!

I layered the doily with some of the pretty glitter paper available from Just Imagine Crafts, and then popped a cute sentiment fussy cut from some of the Spring Things paper 6x6 pad in the center of the doily with some foam tape.  A few enamel dots, and it's a simple, but pretty springtime card.

Thanks for stoppin' by today!  If you get a chance, check out all the inspiration over at the Just Imagine Crafts blog.  You can find my post over there today!  While you're there check out the specials (the butterfly punch I used for one!) and the great projects from the entire team!

Frosty Beauty

Well, it's true, snowflakes are probably one of my favorite images to work with in stamping/die cutting.  As evidenced by some of my latest cards.  Here's a bright and cheerful card for the holidays, once again, using the new Small Oval Christmas Tidings stamp set from JustRite.....it's loaded with so many great images....love it!

Even with the layers this card comes together pretty quickly.

Base:  5&1/2" by 4&1/4" white cardstock A2 sized base.

First layer:  5&1/4" by 4" red cardstock.

Second layer:  5" by 3&3/4" silver POW glitter paper.

Third layer: 4&3/4" by 3&1/2" snowflake patterned paper (Doodlebug Here Comes Santa Claus)

Center panel:  First create the strip for the left side of the card by stamping the small snowflake in Festive Berries Distress Ink on a 1" by 4&3/4" piece of white cardstock.  TIP:  Start by stamping the center snowflake first and work out from there.  Mat this piece on a 1&1/4" by 4&3/4" piece of red cardstock.

Next create the base by matting the tree patterned paper (2&1/2" by 3&1/2") on a piece of red cardstock (2&3/4" by 3&3/4").  Cut POW silver glitter paper using the Vintage Labels Eleven die (3" wide die) and glue to the tree patterned paper base.

Stamp the large snowflake using Festive Berries ink and fussy cut out.  Cut red cardstock using the  1&3/4" Vintage Labels Eleven die.  Foam tape center panel to card front, and foam tape snowflake and red Vintage Labels pieces.  Stamp sentiment on white cardstock and trim to a banner (3/4" wide and about 2&1/4" long), then brush edges with ink.  Foam tape to center of red Vintage Labels piece.

To finish add a little bling and a bow.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Stop back soon for more crafty ideas!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  JustRite--Small Oval Christmas Tidings
Dies:  JustRite--Vintage Labels Eleven
Ink:  Distress Ink-Festive Berries
Paper:  AC cardstock and glitter paper; Doodlebug-Here Comes Santa Claus
Embellishments: AC ribbon, Recollections rhinestones

Love the little mitten stickers and snow globe:

January Challenge Time: Snowflakes!

Over at Scrap It Girl we are rolling out the New Year with a great challenge!  Share your projects with snowflakes!  We've got some inspiration over on the blog and make sure to link up your projects HERE.

I was inspired by some new Tim Holtz and Prima goodies, to create this tag:

The soft sweater pattern in the background is from a Tim Holtz stencil and Picket Fence Distress Spray, and the blue is Tumbled Glass and Salty Ocean Inks blended together.

The Prima girl is layered by stamping on blue cardstock, Doodlebug paper, and AC glitter paper.  Queen and Co. rhinestones, and Doodlebug twine, Sprinkles and clothespins, and a bit of DCWV burlap paper add fun touches.  And I added some baubles and bling with Tim Holtz goodies too.

Here in Illinois....we are getting ready for our first real snowy weather this weekend.....this tag is the glittery pretty winter wonderland I'd prefer!

Thanks for stoppin' by today....remember to join us over at Scrap It Girl!

Wrap It Up Challenge

Hello everyone!  Ready to start some holiday scrapping?  How about holiday decorating?  Or maybe creative ways to gift wrap?  Over at Scrap It Girl....we have a perfect challenge for the month of December--it's our Wrap It Up challenge....it's all about gift wrapping.....whether it's a present on a LO or home decor/altered project, or homemade gift wrap or bags, it's time to wrap up those holiday crafts, and link them up on the Scrap It Girl site HERE

To get you started with a little inspiration, here is a gift bag/tag set I've created using the Doodlebug Frosty Friends collection:

This is something I love to do....take an inexpensive dollar store plain white bag, and use those extra scraps and embellishments from a scrapbook page to create a one of a kind gift bag that is a gift itself!  It's a great way to use up those odds and ends from different projects......six different manufacturers on this one!!

Here's a closer look at the gift tag:

I used a Tim Holtz stencil pounced on white cardstock using Salty Ocean Distress Ink and a Distress Ink sponge. Silver American Crafts glitter paper give it some sparkle, and a Doodlebug mini clothes pin, twine, and Sprinkles add a sweet touch.

For the sentiment, I used a Prima stamp:

The snowflakes are punched out of the glitter paper, and Queen & Co bling adds some pizazz. The feather is a wispy winter touch....from Bella Blvd.

And did I mention a prize?  Yes there is a prize over on the Scrap It Girl blog....you have a chance to win if you link up!!  Check out all the rules and links on THIS POST.

Thanks for stoppin' by today and join in on the challenge!  Instead of a plain (or expensive!) gift bag....make your own with your scraps and a few extra embellishments!

Time to Start....

I should start my Christmas cards in July.....I know it's true....lol.  But I'll be starting them now....and this is a little inspiration, just in case you haven't started yours yet either!

This card is definitely a "scrap my stash" card.....I've used last years Doodlebug Home for the Holidays collection.....love the stickers, and the patterned papers!  Add a little twine and jingle bells....the little touches that finish it off with just enough holiday spirit!

Thanks for stoppin' by today, and watch for more Christmas soon....including a Christmas Countdown calendar complete with a giveaway!

Today is Independence Day!!

Ok, yes, it's not the ACTUAL 4th of July....haha....but it's my Independence Day from a couple of crazy weeks!  Had family members in the hospital, road trips, and work, work, working at the liquidation sale at the LSS I work for!  Sooooo glad to have a few days off to craft (ok, and MAYBE get my guys some clean laundry....lol).

So in the hip-hip-hoooooooray of it all, here are a couple of July projects I can now share since they've been posted on the sites I created them for:

And next up this patriotic frame/home decor project:

And I've shared this one, but will do it again because it fits so well:

Doodlebug's Patriotic Parade was used for all three projects.  Also used American Crafts chalkboard paint (the frame and the jar) and POW glitter paper (card).  The WRMK flower punch board for the flowers, and most of the embellishments are Doodlebug....the "Happy" on the frame is from Unique Laser Designs.

Thanks for stoppin' today....share a little Independence Day with me today.....enjoy some creative time this weekend.....we all need a little independence!

Red, White, and Blue All Over!

With Memorial Day and the 4th of July right around the corner, I thought I'd dive into the new Doodlebug Patriotic Parade collection, and my new WRMK Flower Punch Board and make something festive:

This Doodlebug collection is adorable....I also used the sticker sheet in addition to Doodlebug buttons.

The jar is painted with American Crafts chalkboard paint, and decorated with washi tape from Queen & Co, twine, buttons and bling:

This close up shows the WRMK flowers, and the straws I filled with tufts of tissue and placed firecracker stickers on them....they look ready to pop like real firecrackers!

Lovin' this bright, festive collection!  Thanks for stoppin' by today....enjoy the holiday weekend....and thank you to all who have fought for our freedom!!

Don't Worry.....Be Hoppy!

Yes, it's FINALLY SPRING!!!  The Robins are bobbing around, it's raining instead of snowing....I'll take that any day and twice on Sunday!

And it's time for a little Springtime crafting too.....at least this lil' funny bunny seems to think so:

She's made from a little cardboard alterable available at Hannah's Home Accents in Antioch, IL.  It's meant to be a Christmas Countdown calendar, but I took one look at it and saw this cute lil' bunny peeking back at me!  I drew out some patterns for feet and ears, and she just appeared!  Isn't she sweet?  And the little drawers in the middle open to hold some Easter/Springtime treats....hmmm....maybe some yummo jellybeans--now that's SWEET!

Thanks for stoppin' by today!  Welcome Spring!!

Supplies Used:
Paper: Doodlebug Designs Springtime collection; American Crafts Cardstock
Embellishments: Doodlebug Designs: Springtime Collection mini icons-Blossoms, Want2Scrap pearls, Darice twine, Darice pompoms, Darice google eyes, Trendy Twine Totally White, ribbon and button from stash.
