Scrappy New Year!!

I'm not big on resolutions.....but I'd just LOVE
to get my scrap room in order and get some
SERIOUS scrapping done!

I did get a couple of 2 page LO's done in the
past few days!  Here's the first:

I must say....one of my faves this year!
Really like this WRMK Yuletide collection!
The wreath die cut from the collection was
cut in half and I blinged it up using Candi
dots.  WRMK chipboard and journal spot
finish it off nicely too....make scrapping easy!

Here's a couple of close ups:

Get inspired to get your Christmas pics scrapped!  I just
finished (LAST years....lol!!).

Tomorrow look for some winter fun.....

Brrrrr....it's Wintertime!

Well....official first snowfall here....only about an inch,
I'm kinda happy with that....lol.  But there is some
"Wintertime" that I really love....that's one of the new
collections from Echo Park, and in giving that collection
a little attention, here is the 2 page LO that resulted:

And a close-up of the embellishments on page one:

Webster's Goodies

I haven't had a chance to post all the goodies
I've been making with Webster's Pages!  Now
that my computer is back...Wahoo!!  I can
share some Christmas goodies:

Their beautiful Royal Christmas line is AMAZING!!

Made these goody bags to fill with chocolates, and
another little surprise....a gift card tucked into that
pocket on the front!  Here is a pic of how I used
Scor-Tape to hold the pocket in place:

Simple and easy....but super cute!  I also used
their gorgeous glittery ribbon along the top edge
of the bag, and used their little tags as a cute
little gift tag at the top.  A touch of Trendy Twine
finished it off perfectly.

Are you ready for Christmas?  I've still got a few
"crafty" things up my sleeve....lol.  Be sure to stop
by....and let me know what you're crafting...would
love to stop by your blog and see what you are up
to as well!

A Penny for Your Thoughts....

Do you journal?  It's something I would truly
love to start.  It really only takes a few minutes
a day, and you can pour out anything on your
heart and mind.

One thing I'd enter about now....lol....is the fact
I was asked to be a part of the Chicagoland
Scrapbooker Magazine DT!!  Very excited....
and can't wait to see what the next year brings!

Right now....they are doing a gift series every
Monday....and the first is....journals!  Here
is my project:

Keep the Holiday Simple

Trying to keep stress at a minimum this year!
So these cards are quick, easy, and still super
cute!  Love Echo Park....this is the Season's
Greetings line from last year.....still one of my
faves!  Playing with the new EP Christmas
"This and That" today....we'll see what goodies
I come up with there!

As for the pic:

And a close up:

The holly is a Tim Holtz stamp....I edged
the holly in Black Soot Ink to make it pop
a bit.  I'm not good at walking away from a
more "plain" card....but this is about quick
but cute!  So there ya go!....lol.

Have you started your holiday crafting?

REALLY WORTH THE WAIT!!----A CONTEST!!

Ok, all my faithful blog followers.....hang in there!  Pardon
my "dust" so to speak....which actually is sadly caused by
a computer that has been *cough* cough*  sick....lol.  And
I am now back "on line" but have discovered they (my techie
fix it dudes) have some how managed to disable my ability
to post pics....my photo program is totally disabled!!! UGH!!

Sooooooo......I am proposing a little contest in the meantime
....sans photos.....lol!!  I am hoping to be back within a week
or so....maybe sooner.....and I have SO many fun projects to
post!  I've been working with WRMK, BoBunny, LYB,
Carte Bella, and Echo Park to name a few....and can't
wait to post these awesome projects!  So while you are ever
so patiently waiting.....here is my contest idea....

I have already planned on a HUGE MEGA giveaway of
blog candy once I reach 200 followers.....and here I am...
just NINE people away!!  So my "THANKS FOR
YOUR PATIENCE" contest is born!  If you recommend my
blog to someone.....and leave a comment on this post with their
name, and then that person leaves a comment AND becomes
a new follower....I will then draw a winner from that list of names
for some rockin' blog candy....and both the current follower and
the new follower will win!!!  AND then if I've made that ever so close
200.....watch for an AMAZING giveaway.....of Sizzix dies,
stickles, embellishments, ribbons/twine.....all kinds of yummy
goodies!

So again.....thanks for hanging in there with me.....and can't wait
to start posting again!!  Most of all....can't wait to share some
amazing blog candy with my awesome followers!!

Blog Candy....check out the Cutter's Creek Blog to see the goodies!
You hopefully came here from LORI'S BLOG, and of course, you
should start at the Cutter's Creek Design Team Blog HERE.
The objective for our Blog Hop this weekend is to provide some
inspiration to help you get your holiday crafting underway!  Our
Design Team has come up with some fabulous projects and we have
a little bit of everything, from cards to gift ideas, and home decor items.
So we invite you to hop along with us and get your creative juices flowing!
But first, my little home dec/gift item:

Now....I will apologize right now everyone!  My computer has
caught itself a NASTY virus, and because of that....the VERY
un-techie me is trying desperately to post this on my son's
computer....using his unfamiliar photo editing software....as we
can clearly see....lol.  I will try tweak this pic tomorrow (AGAIN)
but for now....I want to go ahead and get this posted!  So excuse
my messy desk, and the so-so pic!  Please come back and take
a second peek later today!!  ETA:  Ok....a BIT better of a pic....
my son's editing software isn't the greatest....but remember to
click on the pic for a bit of a larger version....it's sure better than
the first one anywho!.....lol.

And I've added a close up, so you can see the sparkle of the
Glitter Dust.....see info about it below...

For my project, I started with an unfinished shadow box frame,
painted it with Adirondack dauber paint (Watermelon and
Pitch Black)--love these....super easy way to paint wooden
projects!  The papers and stickers and tag come from the
letters and numbers are AC Dear Lizzy collection, the die
cut on the top was from Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two
and embellished with matching silver Nestabling from
Want2Scrap, the red tinsel is Tim Holtz Tinsel Twine
and the flower in the upper right corner is from the

Another fun item I finally played with on this project....
Glitter Dust!  This stuff is awesome!  Just a light spray,
and it coats your paper/flowers, whatever, in a fine
glitter....dries instantly, and gives a soft shimmer....it's
gorgeous!  Used it on the flower and on the paper
behind the word "santa" and behind the "2001".

So thanks for putting up with my sad little pic....but
would love to see a comment anyway--let me know
what ya think!!  And I willtry to get a little better pic
up after I get some playtime with this new software!
....lol!!  I'm a kinda slow learner!....lol.

Now don't forget.....next stop:  FRAN'S BLOG and her
absolutely gorgeous project--hope you enjoy hopping along
with us this weekend....and remember to leave a comment
on every blog for you chance to win!

And just in case:
Here is the complete blog hop line up if you get lost along the way:

Patterned Paper Playtime....

Mixing it up with different patterns of paper in
a collection is an easy way to add interest to
any project....love that!  So when Just Rite
listed this as their challenge.....I was all over it!

So my entry for JustRite Friday Challenge #083
"Three's Company"....using three different
patterned papers on your card/project:

I used the MME Lost and Found collection,
and actually used 4 different papers...the black
stripe, the polka dot, the pink that the frames
are stamped on has a soft swirl pattern, and the
pink piece under the black ribbon that has a
frame pattern to it....I thought it was a good
mimic of the frames.  The stamps (the black
part on each frame, and the sentiment) and
the die that cut the little frames/windows are
from the Becca Feeken September Amazing
Grace club kit from JustRite.

The finishing touches:
punch:  Martha Stewart
ribbon: may arts organza
bling: stash and Queen & Co
twine: twinery
charm: Tim Holtz
button:  stash
ink: Black Soot Distress Ink

May Arts September "Ink It" Challenge Entry

It's time to get inky!!!  My favorite thing to do!
I need to say a HUGE thank you to May Arts,
and to Helmar....they sent us the ribbons and
the adhesive to attach all the embellishments!

This is my entry into the May Arts September
"Ink It" Challenge!

The pic is small...but it's because this thing is huge!
It's over three feet in length and a foot and a half
high!....later I have a collage pic too....remember,
click on the pic to make it bigger!

As for the challenge, we were given our choice of
4 ribbons to dye, ink, whatever, and I chose the
ribbons in the pic here....(I didn't have any
leftover of the twill ribbon....just a snippet of
the stuff I had already dyed orange!):

And to ink them up, I used:

And to paint all the wood, I used black and
purple paint from Making Memories, and inked
all the papers are inked with Black Soot Distress
Ink.  The gorgeous papers and chipboard?  By
Graphic 45....their Happy Haunting collection.
The yummy black and orange twine is from
Trendy Twine (Orange Licorice) and last but
not least....the skeleton stamp is from The Rubber Cafe.

Here is a close up of the skeleton banner:

And the treat favor holder boxes:

You can see all those gorgeous dyed May
Arts ribbons....I must say....those suede leaves
are AWESOME!!!  I use the Glimmer Mist,
and then stamped with Memento Black Tuxedo
(the sentiment is from Stamps of Life).

And a close up of the center part with the witches
hat (the mesh ribbon was dyed with the Tiger Lily
and layered as well as the flowers and more suede
leaves)...

And this center piece is a four sided cube.....
so here is a collage of all the pieces and parts,
so you can see it all:

Remember, you can click on any of the photos
for a closer look!!!

Thanks for stopping by, and if you get a chance,
would love for you to drop by the May Arts blog
and leave a comment for me.....the link is:

SFYTT Time....

Yes....I'm squeaking in at the last minute again.....
but with a card that allowed me to put some ink
to a brand new Rubber Cafe stamp....love the
little skeleton I used on this card:

I also used the new MME Lost and Found
Halloween collection, AC ribbon, MS web
punch, and Black Soot Ink.

It was made using the SFYTT here:

Remember you can find the sketch HERE,
and play along every month!!

Thanks for stopping by....hope you take

Spooktacular Contest....

Over at the MME blog (find them HERE)
their monthly challenge for September is
to be inspired by "Project Runway"....and
create a LO, and then to make a card
inspired by that LO.

Here is my take on the challenge:

I used the new MME Lost and Found Halloween collection!
The papers are gorgeous....and I also used the chipboard
elements and punch out sheet from this collection.

A little better close-up of the LO:

And then the card:

You can see the inspiration of the glittery pumpkin, the banners,
the black stripe paper around the focal point, the music paper
peeking from behind, and the distressing, inking and touch of
staples and Halloween Trendy Twine.

Had fun creating for the contest.....and if you'd like to play,
remember to check out MME's blog!!

Thanks for stopping by!

(not Unity tho!) and finishing touches are Hug Snug seam
binding, twine, rhinestones (recollections), the rooster

Martha Stewart.  Inks used.....black soot, festive berries,

Scrap It Girl's September Challenge is up and running!
It's a recipe challenge....you need to use the following
goodies:  twine, arrows, circles, a bird, the color red.

Fun right?  And yours truly is providing the prize pack!

Here is the prize:

Full of Halloween goodness, right?  Making Memories
foam stamp set, Inkadinkado Halloween stamps, all
kinds of fun trims....pumpkin and bat ribbon and black
and orange jute from Really Reasonable Ribbon,
Halloween twine, Making Memories black and white
bling/brads, Halloween stickles (grape/orange peel/
black diamond) and a big chunk of yummy black burlap!
A mixed media dream....right?

Here is the sample card I did:

My twine....the new yummy Halloween Trendy Twine!!  Arrows...
my bling circle from Basic Grey, Circles...my buttons, and again,
my arrow circle....and hey....why not the two letter "O"s in boo?
Birds...those little owls and ravens on the paper, and lastly the

bling circle are all red.  If you are drooling over the papers....

border at the bottom....a Martha Stewart punch.

Finally a Breather!

Well, that's kind of a joke....big things to do in the
next few days....some good, some not so good, but
hey....at least I had some creative time!  Got 10 cards
done for card kits at Hannah's....will try to share those
later, but for now, a little Halloween fun, and my take
on this sketch, August's SFYTT:

And my card:

I used the new Reminisce Halloween collection, the new
Unity Stamp of the Month kit, Trendy Twine, and Q&Co
Roc gems.  A spooktacularly fun card!

Stay tuned for more Halloween goodies tomorrow!

Beachy Memories

Every year, we head to the beach.  Except for this year!
With DS heading to college, wasn't in the plan.  But the
next best thing....scrapping pics from our vacay last year.
Ok, not really, but hey....the memories are fun!....lol.

This page is also being entered over at Trendy Twine...
their August challenge is to use their Krazy for Kraft
twine, and washi tape:

Echo Park Paradise Beach makes most of this page (all the
stickers and paper).  K&Co make the epoxy circle stickers,
the flags are toothpicks with Queen&Co washi tape, the
buttons were from my stash, and the alphas....Thickers,
and October Afternoon mini market.  And then of course,
the Krazy for Kraft Trendy Twine--I made the frame using
scor-tape on a piece of kraft cardstock, and then creating the
little tassels and adhering them on the top with more scor-tape.

So what did you do this summer?  Anything fun?  Take
some time and scrapbook a memory!

Sunshine Colors

This color combo is one of my new favorites....
how about you?  I'm seeing this Yellow/Orange/Pink
combo everywhere!  It is this weeks Play Date Cafe
challenge #144 too:

And here is my take on those sunshine filled colors:

I pulled out my Unity Stamps, Distress Inks,
(squeezed lemonade, wild honey and worn
lipstick), and EP's Hello summer paper.
Recollections rhinestones and Twinery
twine finish this one off.

Enjoy a little sunshine crafting time yourself,
check out the Play Date Cafe HERE.

And it's going to be posted on Unity "Friends with Flair"
on Friday too!

Remember to grab some time for some inky fun!

May Arts July Challenge

The July Challenge was "Silk Indulgence"....Bethney over
at May Arts chose these deliciously gorgeous silk ribbons
for us to use in the challenge!  I put in my idea....and was
so happy to be chosen with my project for a desk set:

This collage shows all the pieces and parts....
it all started with the ribbon and tray in the
bottom right corner....and ended up with this
complete set.

The notepad has a cover made from the silk
ribbons:

The ribbons were then used to add little touches here
and there, and then to tie up the whole gift.  I used the
new G45 Bird Song collection....this was a perfect
match for the silk ribbons!

And here is a little closer view of the entire set:

So if you happen by....would love you to pop by the
May Arts blog HERE and vote for me by leaving a
comment!!

And have to say a thanks to May Arts for allowing
me to play in their wonderful challenge!!
