Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month: Everyday

Oh my!  I did let this month get away from me in soooooo many ways!  Work swept me away from being on-line, and my poor blog is suffering!

My goal for 2014 (not resolution.....don't like that word.....too many bad memories of diets gone bad....lol) is to have a stash of cards at the ready for this coming year.  I'm going to have a huge card making party!  So in honor of starting that, here is my first:

I made this sweet card using goodies from Doodlebug and The Rubber Cafe'.  It's all included in the Creative Cafe' Kit of the Month over at The Rubber Cafe'.  You can find my post and all the details on how I created this card right HERE.

Operation Tag - A Birthday Celebration!

Good Morning!!  Today I'm part of a fun "Happy Birthday" to
Janice!  She is mom, to Trendy Twine's Lesley!!  She asked if we
could all make a birthday themed tag and send it to her to wish
her mom a Happy Birthday!  Was so fun to play along with the
secret "Operation Tag"!

Make sure to pop over to the Trendy Twine blog HERE, to see
all the tags, and it would be extra nice for you to stop by all the
participants blog and leave a comment for them!

Here is my tag:

And a closer shot:

You can see some of the detail where I used Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge,
added water splashes, and inked the edges in Black Soot.  The "Happy,
Happy, Happy" was stamped using The Rubber Cafe' Remember the
Moments set and Scrap Happy Glue....which I then added You're So Fine
Glitter to.  The paper is from BoBunny and last but definitely not least....
YUMMO twine from Trendy Twine in Orangesicle.  Find all their twine HERE.

Here you can see how the bottom of the tag was punch with a zutter and
finished with a twine fringe:

Thanks for stoppin' by today.....and joining us in the birthday celebration!

Bushel o' Fall.....just love the colors and patterns in this one!

The journal cards and die cuts with this set are perfect for a mini album.
And all those banners peeking out....the cute border strip paper.  Love
that wood grain paper too....really on trend!

channel (ok, did I just date myself or WHAT?!!....lol).  Thanks for stoppin'!

Cold Hands.....really?!!

Ugh....snow in the midwest....BEFORE Thanksgiving....did
I say UGH???!!!!  Well, in the interest of making the best of
it....I've been inspired to use Linnie Blooms canvas pieces,
and Reminisce's Chalkboard Christmas collection, to make
this easel project:

I painted the frame with Adirondack Red Pepper paint dauber, then
used a Crafter's Workshop stencil to add the aqua (also a paint dauber).

This project is a little inspiration for you to try the Stencil Challenge this
month over at Scrap It Girl!  Use a stencil on a project....link it up....and
join in the fun!  You can find the challenge and link HERE.

Back to the project....the canvas was colored in various ways....snowman
and tree using Distress Stains....snowman got a nose I just cut from a piece
of orange paper, and his eyes/buttons are Want 2 Scrap pearls.  That is
also where the swirl came from.  The buttons are Recollections and the
twine from Trendy Twine.  Dear Lizzy Thickers spell out the saying around
the frame.

To color in the canvas hearts, I used gelatos, and a Faber-Castell big
brush pen in white to make the stitch marks, and then frayed the edges.
Here is a closer look:

All the snowflake paper from the Reminisce Chalkboard Christmas has a
little of the Clearsnap Cat's Eye chalk in white around the edges to give it
that extra snowy look.

Remember to link up your stencil work of art over at Scrap It Girl this month!

Thanks for stoppin' by and enjoying a warm cup of crafting cocoa on this cold
November morning!

T'was the Night to Sneak in a Little Holly Jolly

Well, I'm NOT ready for Christmas yet....lol....but The Rubber Cafe'
is starting to get me there!  This month they have a new Creative Cafe' Kit
that is truly gorgeous!

It includes Echo Park's Tis' the Season, Queen & Co embellishments,
gorgeous ribbons, and best of all....The Rubber Cafe' stamps!

It's getting me inspired to make my Christmas cards, and here is the first:

I went with a clean and simple style on this one....great for
Christmas cards.....can make a lot quickly, but has the trendy
chalkboard look!

You can find the details over on The Rubber Cafe' blog today
right HERE.

Thanks for stoppin' by today!  Happy holiday crafting!

Time to Harvest....Fall LO's

We R Memory Keepers have a great way of coordinating their collections
making it easy to scrap or craft.  This new fall collection "Harvest" is a
perfect example:

The colors are perfect for fall....and perfect to scrap out annual football game!
I used the border strip paper for my title (the I love fall) and using the embossed
stickers, I layered them up using foam tape to make a "bouquet" next to the
"Colors of Autumn" sticker.  A little ribbon/burlap and bling and a kraft mini bag
from Maya Rd. finish this quick LO off!

I love fall crafting....don't you?

Linnie Blooms in THIS POST.

Hope you have a spooktacularly fun and safe Halloween!

It's A Spooky Halloween with My Mind's Eye

Been having a little spooky fun with some Halloween projects....and
thought this is a perfect week to share, with Halloween coming up
this Thursday!

This LO was created using My Mind's Eye (MME) newest collection
for Halloween, called "Happy Haunting":

This is actually page one of a two pager.....you'll see that tomorrow!  I used
the chipboard from the MME collection, every embellishment is from that
set, except the glassine envelope....I made a tag out of the paper, and then
added a piece of the chipboard to slip into the envelope...it gives a ghostly
look to the chipboard piece inside.   I did also use a bit of Trendy Twine
(orange licorice) here and there.  And the circle under the "31" chipboard piece
was fussy cut from one of the Happy Haunting collection papers.  Love that little
bit of glitz and glitter!

Thanks for stopping by today!  More spooktacular goodies tomorrow!

Farmhouse Paper Co. Album Take 2

As promised....here are the next pages of the album using the Farmhouse Paper Co.
Country Kitchen collection!

Page 4&5:

These recipe cards were cut out from a 12x12 paper that was printed with them,
also fussy cut out labels from another 12x12 sheet.

Page 6&7:

Using a bit of Trendy Twine on this page, and some of the stickers (they came
in the same package as the recipe tabs I put on the edge of the pages).

Here are 8&9:

The mini recipe card on this page is a sticker....more cut out labels here too.

And on to 10&11:

Love that ball jar chipboard sticker!  And the china plate paper really reminds me
of grandma's house.  I'm really excited to put the pics in this album!

Here is a peek under the recipe card on page 11:

I used a Martha Stewart punch on several of the pages....reminds me of an
old fashioned eyelet lace.  And if you notice.....I tried to coordinate the
recipes with my pages....this cherry/dessert page has the recipe for an
angel-cherry dessert when it's flipped over.

Whew....1/2 way there!.....lol.  Will be posting the rest of the book tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by!

Cookin' Up Memories with Farmhouse Paper

I've long wanted to do a recipe album that used some of our "family recipes"
along with pics of my mom, and both of my grandmas....so many good times
making these family recipes!

When the Farmhouse Paper Co. Country Kitchen collection came along....
yep, knew it was the perfect collection!

This weekend I'll be sharing pics of my album that I created for Hannah's
Home Accents, the LSS in Antioch, IL as a kit.....remember, you can get
this kit in person, or have Hannah's ship one to you!

And gotta say....it was fun to see it over on the Farmhouse Paper Co. blog
a couple of days ago!  It was posted HERE.  Thanks Farmhouse for the shout
out for both Hannah's and my album!

Linnie Blooms Guest Designer: Bootiful Fall Decor

It's time for crisp air, falling leaves, and pumpkins galore!  Ahhhh Fall!

I've created this Halloween banner decoration for my Guest Designer
spot over at Linnie Blooms today....my mom has already claimed it
her collection of holiday decorations.....lol:

You can find my post up at Linnie Blooms HERE.....and you can also find these
awesome canvas blanks over there in their shop!  They are not just canvas squares...
they have layers inside to make them more durable, and able to be die cut too!  Then
they are sewn together.....absolutely LOVE these!

The "BOO" sentiment is chipboard letters that I covered with The Rubber Cafe' (TRC)
Scrap Happy Glue, and then used TRC Black Licorice You're So Fine Glitter.  The
canvas blanks were dyed using Dylusions spray ink, then while they were wet, I crumpled
them to give them a more distressed look like you see here:

Then I frayed the edges and brushed them with Adirondack Black Soot Paint Dauber.
I stamped each blank with Black Tuxedo Memento Ink using the Script Stamp from TRC.

Using my WRMK Crop-A-Dile, I set eyelets, then tied the banner together using
Trendy Twine in the Orange Licorice.  Queen & Co goosebumps finish it off.

Thanks for stopping by for some spooktacular crafting today....are you making any fun
holiday items right now?  Let me know.....I might send some goodies your way to help
you out!
