Above is my project for the hop.....this sweet spring time basket! Where to
start?? So much sweet, springy goodness (ok, now it sounds like it's a
twinkie....lol)!! My project started with some wooden eggs I had laying
around in my crafting stash. They were painted with acrylic paints and once
dry, coated with Tim Holtz (TH) Distress Crackle Paint. Ok, personal
moment here--can I just say....LOVE!!! First time I played with the colors!!
I used Dusty Concord, Broken China and Peeled Paint, and once they dried
into their crackly gorgeousness, I rubbed them over with the coordinating
TH Distress Inks (except the Peeled Paint....went for the Forest Moss on
that one!) and then after taking the extra off with a paper towel, I rubbed
them with the TH Distress Stickles in Rock Candy.....they turned out like
gorgeous sugared vintage eggs, here's a close up.....
And I just knew eggs need a basket, soooooo, I got out the rockin' Echo Park
(EP) Springtime 12x12 paper kit to alter up a plain little basket I picked
up in the $1 bins at Target (if you haven't......make sure to check them out.....
awesome altering goodies there!!). Now I tried something fun.....it's probably
hard to tell, but I used the inside of a cardboard box (I peeled the layers apart!)
to cover the basket to alter.....it's a fun different sort of look! I cut the little
banners out of one of the border strips in the EP set, and used the sticker letters
and the tiny butterfly from this set too! I layered up the EP pretty paper with
some olive green and bright pink American Crafts (AC) cardstock, and finished
off with some ribbon and the gorgeous Color me Crazy Petaloo flowers.
They were sprayed with Vintage Pink Glimmer Mist and the flower centers
are more EP paper and AC Pearl brads. A little pink seam binding ribbon,
bakers twine put on the finishing touches. Ooo, and I used a die with my cuttle
bug to make the grass border around the top edge....also bet you cricut gals
could do that easy peasy too!!
And here is a pic of my basket "in action".....these bunnies were actually my
inspiration for this project!! Super cute and ready for spring......
And now for the good stuff......if you leave a comment and become (or are!) a
follower of my blog.....you will have a chance to win, not once, but TWICE!!
Kim, the store owner at Cutter's Creek, has a rockin' prize pack of goodies to
give away, and so do I (PS my giveaway is US shipping only!!)!!
Check out the spring time goodness here.....pretty pastel ribbons, tags, bling,
and more! K & Co, Kaiserkraft, Making Memories, and DCWV....how's that for
yummy blog candy??? Here's a peek.....
So leave a comment, become a follower, and most of all, enjoy the hop!! All the
gals on the Cutter's Creek Design Team have awesome projects to share!! Your
