Egg-stra Fun Springtime Cards!

Well, with 3 inches of snow on the ground this am....spring is not EXACTLY what I'd call today...but the calendar says so....lol.

For some bright cheerful fun, I'm sharing two cards I've created using The Rubber Cafe' KOTM--Spring Is Here.

The card above....had a blast playing with my Faber-Castell gelatos to create the effect of easter egg dye on this card.  LOVE the bright spring colors!  Want details....all can be found over at The Rubber Cafe' blog on THIS POST.

Next up, this sweet lil' chick....an Easter card, or anytime, I'm thinking of you card:

His little shell is glittered up using Scrap Happy Glue and You're So Fine glitter from The Rubber Cafe'.  You can order online, or find them at the Scrapbook Expo!!  More details over on the blog on THIS POST.

Practical Scrapper Tutorial....Gelatos Tagged!

As a member of the Specialty Team over at Practical Scrappers....I get the chance to do tutorials!!

My tutorial on how to make this tag background is up over there today, but I'll share some here too!

But I will share that I used 3 complimentary shades of gelatos....colored them onto the
tag, and then blended with my finger to get this:

 

 
 And then I used a damp paper towel to remove some of the gelato (since they react with
water) to give it a feathery look like this:

And lastly, a close up of the details after it was finished:

I am in love with these Prima Doll stamps!  They make for a fun mixed media project!

Playing With Prima Doll Stamps....

Well, like so many others....I have joined in the Prima

Doll Stamp mania!....lol.  These little beauties are

quite addicting....guess the little girl inside still loves

to play with paper dolls!....lol.  I have a few to

post....but 2 are still a secret for a tag swap I'm

in, but I did another, just for fun:

Her tag base is one of the Prima Tags, I used 

Faber-Castell Gelatos to make the Red, White, &

Blue background.  Then I stamped it with white

Adirondack Snow Cap paint using the Unity

brick wall and mesh stamps, and I stamped Prima

Swirl stamps in Black Tuxedo Memento Ink. 

I stamped one of the Prima floral borders in 

Red Pepper Adirondack paint, then brushed the 

edges of the tag with the Snow Cap dauber as well.

To make the doll....I used Authentique's Glory 6x6 pad

and stamped her "stockings", her top, and her skirt

ruffle (I added creases/pleats to give it texture).

Her jean skirt is a piece of canvas colored in with 

gelatos, then stenciled over using a Crafter's Workshop

stencil and the Red Pepper paint. The rest of her

body and hair was colored in with Copic Markers.

I added black Glossy Accents to her shoes.

The finishing touches on the tag....UmWow chip

stars painted and stamped with the Adirondack

daubers and Prima stamps, Want2Scrap bling,

K&Co bling flowers, Trendy Twine, Prima

Flowers, and a Doodlebug button. And the

ribbons at the top were dyed using Distress 

Ink in Salty Ocean and Festive Berries.

Mixed Media Fun....

Thought I'd share what I created today at an awesome mixed 

media class at a store called Linnie Blooms.

Was a great time, and Linda Barutha was a great teacher!

Played with Faber-Castell Gelatos, brush markers,

and Claudine Hellmuth foam stamps to make this canvas bag.

to Kimberly Congdon for putting it all together!  Thanks
