Ugh....snow in the midwest....BEFORE Thanksgiving....did
I say UGH???!!!! Well, in the interest of making the best of
it....I've been inspired to use Linnie Blooms canvas pieces,
and Reminisce's Chalkboard Christmas collection, to make
this easel project:
I painted the frame with Adirondack Red Pepper paint dauber, then
used a Crafter's Workshop stencil to add the aqua (also a paint dauber).
This project is a little inspiration for you to try the Stencil Challenge this
month over at Scrap It Girl! Use a stencil on a project....link it up....and
join in the fun! You can find the challenge and link HERE.
Back to the project....the canvas was colored in various ways....snowman
and tree using Distress Stains....snowman got a nose I just cut from a piece
of orange paper, and his eyes/buttons are Want 2 Scrap pearls. That is
also where the swirl came from. The buttons are Recollections and the
twine from Trendy Twine. Dear Lizzy Thickers spell out the saying around
the frame.
To color in the canvas hearts, I used gelatos, and a Faber-Castell big
brush pen in white to make the stitch marks, and then frayed the edges.
Here is a closer look:
All the snowflake paper from the Reminisce Chalkboard Christmas has a
little of the Clearsnap Cat's Eye chalk in white around the edges to give it
that extra snowy look.
Remember to link up your stencil work of art over at Scrap It Girl this month!
Thanks for stoppin' by and enjoying a warm cup of crafting cocoa on this cold
November morning!
I am only wishing for it to cool off! Wish I could feel the cold snowman and the cool card! Lovein this one too!!
