Operation Tag - A Birthday Celebration!
Good Morning!! Today I'm part of a fun "Happy Birthday" to
Janice! She is mom, to Trendy Twine's Lesley!! She asked if we
could all make a birthday themed tag and send it to her to wish
her mom a Happy Birthday! Was so fun to play along with the
secret "Operation Tag"!
Make sure to pop over to the Trendy Twine blog HERE, to see
all the tags, and it would be extra nice for you to stop by all the
participants blog and leave a comment for them!
Here is my tag:
And a closer shot:
You can see some of the detail where I used Distress Ink in Rusty Hinge,
added water splashes, and inked the edges in Black Soot. The "Happy,
Happy, Happy" was stamped using The Rubber Cafe' Remember the
Moments set and Scrap Happy Glue....which I then added You're So Fine
Glitter to. The paper is from BoBunny and last but definitely not least....
YUMMO twine from Trendy Twine in Orangesicle. Find all their twine HERE.
Here you can see how the bottom of the tag was punch with a zutter and
finished with a twine fringe:

Cold Hands.....really?!!
Ugh....snow in the midwest....BEFORE Thanksgiving....did
I say UGH???!!!! Well, in the interest of making the best of
it....I've been inspired to use Linnie Blooms canvas pieces,
and Reminisce's Chalkboard Christmas collection, to make
this easel project:
I painted the frame with Adirondack Red Pepper paint dauber, then
used a Crafter's Workshop stencil to add the aqua (also a paint dauber).
This project is a little inspiration for you to try the Stencil Challenge this
month over at Scrap It Girl! Use a stencil on a project....link it up....and
join in the fun! You can find the challenge and link HERE.
Back to the project....the canvas was colored in various ways....snowman
and tree using Distress Stains....snowman got a nose I just cut from a piece
of orange paper, and his eyes/buttons are Want 2 Scrap pearls. That is
also where the swirl came from. The buttons are Recollections and the
twine from Trendy Twine. Dear Lizzy Thickers spell out the saying around
the frame.
To color in the canvas hearts, I used gelatos, and a Faber-Castell big
brush pen in white to make the stitch marks, and then frayed the edges.
Here is a closer look:
All the snowflake paper from the Reminisce Chalkboard Christmas has a
little of the Clearsnap Cat's Eye chalk in white around the edges to give it
that extra snowy look.
Remember to link up your stencil work of art over at Scrap It Girl this month!
Thanks for stoppin' by and enjoying a warm cup of crafting cocoa on this cold
November morning!

Time to Harvest....Fall LO's
We R Memory Keepers have a great way of coordinating their collections
making it easy to scrap or craft. This new fall collection "Harvest" is a
perfect example:
The colors are perfect for fall....and perfect to scrap out annual football game!
I used the border strip paper for my title (the I love fall) and using the embossed
stickers, I layered them up using foam tape to make a "bouquet" next to the
"Colors of Autumn" sticker. A little ribbon/burlap and bling and a kraft mini bag
from Maya Rd. finish this quick LO off!
I love fall crafting....don't you?
