Snips and Scraps

I'm notoriously bad about using my bits and scraps of paper. It's
such a great idea on cards.....but seems like I just don't DO it. Well
this card has those snips and scraps on it. I made it with the Pink
Paislee Vintage Vogue collection....LOVE!! Such a retro fun vibe to
this collection! And such girly fun colors and patterns! And it is
perfect to enter into the challenge over at Moxie Fab World!!

If you haven't.....pop over to Moxie Fab World....to find the Moxie
Fabulicious Paper Scraps Challenge HERE.

I used the Vintage Vogue paper, die cuts (added my own
Recollections bling to the flowers, and used foam dots to
"pop" them), the happy birthday sentiment was stamped
onto one of the die cuts, and the chipboard silhouette. Ink
used....Black Soot distress ink.

Remember to take some time for some inky fun today!

Yes, it's the CR84FN color challenge!! I've been so sad I've been missing out

on some new toys! Don't ya just LOVE that?!

off perfectly by the stamped image in the center....from Shabby Chic's "Easter

is gorgeous...I believe there are still a few left if you want to check the site

Ordinary to Extraordinary....

How many times do you try to look at items in a different way?

The true beginnings of "scrap" booking started here....yep, it's
time to get back to the root of the matter!! While there are so
many embellishments you can buy....have you ever tried just
making them yourself? Well....I got inspired by some challenges...
one of which is over at Moxie Fab World called the Household Items
Challenge in the Moxie Fab World!! (find it HERE). You are
supposed to use an everyday household item to make something.

Well, I've been thinking about all the water bottle caps I go thru,
and thought....why not those? So I painted 'em, gave them a
punched out paper center inked for a little accent, added a bling
brad center....and there ya have it....sunflowers!! Just in time
for the first day of spring!

Remember, that you can join in the challenge too....head over to
Moxie Fab and check it out....they have a bunch!!

Items used:
EP Dots & Stripes Soda Fountain
AC cardstock
MM Paper Reverie Brads and bling
MM Wedding Thank You stamp
Black Soot Distress Ink
Divine Twine (Olive)
EP Springtime stickers (stems/leaves)
MFT grass die
EP Style Essentials (for grass diecut)

Inspired by "A Sweethaven Summer"....

Have you heard of the newly published book...."A Sweethaven Summer"?
It was written by Courtney Walsh, and I must say, I am beyond excited
to read it! It's about scrapbooking, memories, and old friends. And how
perfect, that a group of my scrappin' friends and I are going to each get a
copy and read it at the same time....then we can share our thoughts on it!!
Our own little scrappy book club!

Well this very book is the reason I have posted this LO! Courtney has
issued a challenge/contest on her blog (find it HERE). You are to choose
one of the scrapbook pages she has posted as inspiration for a project of
your own.

My inspiration? Leslie Ashe's "It's A Tradition" LO. It spoke to me in
so many ways!! I LOVE traditions, and we are so blessed to have a
tradition of going to the beach in North Carolina every year! It's an
absolutely beautiful place, and just being there, I can't explain it, but
somehow you just feel closer to God!! We have had so many of our
best family times, and family memories there.

Our beach album is the ONE scrapbook album that I truly keep up
on year after year (course it's not "one" anymore....lol). We do so
many things...fishing, walking, shell collecting, boating, the aquarium,
the ferry, feeding the gulls, and oh do we eat seafood....lol. Even tho'
we do some of this year after year, it's always a unique experience
every time!

Another way Leslie's LO inspired me was with it's symmetry and design,
love the different layers of scalloped edges....you can see these in my LO.
And honestly, something else that really just "hit" me....Leslie is the name
of one of my truly best friends growing up.....and she passed away this year.
Just another reminder, to me, of why memories and traditions are important....
they are a little piece of something that we can leave behind, for those we love,
even when we are gone.

Yep, A Sweethaven Summer sounds so much like our story....returning to
a seaside cottage, year after year, and documenting the memories, I can
see how my boys have grown and changed, we can reflect on the amazing
things we did, and the time spent together as a family. It's truly why I love
this hobby.....why I love to scrapbook.

How about you?

(Items used: Fancy Pants Rusted Sun, BoBunny Popsicle, Glitz alpha,
buttons and twine from my stash, epoxy set, Queen & Co felt border,
LYB journal box, DCWV ribbon, Reminisce Under the Sea alpha (blue),
Creative Imaginations Epoxy, Scattered Straw & Vintage Photo Distress
Ink (on journaling).

Just a Little This and That....

Yep, a little This and That Graceful collection from Echo Park!!
I was waiting for THE perfect paper set to make these fun letters
for my scrappy space....the minute this collection came thru the
door....I knew I'd found it!! And here is some up close and personal
pics of each letter....

This project was made with the EP as I said....all the stickers and
fussy cut flowers are from this collection as well...all pieces were
inked with Vintage Photo and I added Kaiserkraft bling, Twinery
twine, buttons from my stash, American Crafts brads (flower
centers), bobunny ribbon, and Jenni Bowlin butterflies.

A reminder how important it is to create something beautiful
each day!!

PS you can see a few more of the details on the Cutter's Creek
blog if you are interested!

Time To Hop To It!!!

Hey....welcome to DAY THREE!!! Of the Shabby Chic Stamp Co. hop!!
Yes, I'm just adding projects as we go...thought it would be fun! So
today's entries...I got the NEW RELEASE sets in the mail yesterday!!
I had the card design laid out for that pink one above, in my head as
soon as I saw the set preview....lol. It's THE most adorable set!! I used
CM circle punches for all the punch work ("notched out" the larger
white piece, then punched the circles with the "peek a boo" windows to
see the baby footprints). I used the same type circle with the
"welcome little one" sentiment as a mask when I stamped the little
baby footprints (I used Victorian Velvet Distress Ink for all the stamping).

A sweet soft card for a new arrival.....as is this one....

as
Couldn't leave the boys out, now could I?? I used the build a baby set...
OMGSH just love these stamps!! Both sentiments are from the Sweet
Pea stamp set. Used a MS punch, some of the new chocolate/blue trendy
twine, and kaiserkraft rhinestones. The organza is Offray.

Now remember this is a hop.....check out the other projects below, and
make sure you stop by Shabby Chic, and all the stops, so you can get
a chance at winning!! And now yesterday's post.....

As promised....here are some more goodies! Yep...this set is just
awesome! And the new release....EVEN BETTER! Make sure to
check out Shabby Chic Stamp Co....the link is below!

These tags needed a home.....so I made this tin to hold them....

The paper is all Echo Park (Style Essentials and a sprinkling of
Victoria Gardens)....the tin was a MM flower tin I saved (I save
all my packaging....never know when inspiration will strike....lol).

I used alcohol inks (citrus, watermelon and sunshine yellow)
to color the tin, then made the belly band with the EP....a MS punch,
a Spellbinders die, CM punch for the circles in the center....that little
"chickadee" is a sweet stamp from the "Bunny Love" collection!

So happy Saturday....hope you get a chance to get inky....and now
back to Friday's post......

for that sweet little chick (colored him in with copics) and the
sentiment around the button.....LOVE that stamp!! I used some
gorgeous Samantha Walker Spellbinders, Core d'nations cardstock
(sanded to make the design "pop") and Distress Ink in Peeled
Paint. A little button and twine from my stash. This stamp set
is so adorable, just LOVE!!

Spring Time Fun!!

It's gonna be here before you know it....I can't wait! For the warmer
weather, the spring time blossoms, and yep....Easter too!! This card
has me thinking spring.....it's my first "official project" from the DT
at Shabby Chic Stamp Co!!! It turned out super cute....which is no
surprise given the cuteness factor for these stamps!!

I used the "Bunny Love" set....the sentiment and the "hippity hoppity"
surrounding the buttons are from the set. I used Scenic Route papers
(love this set for spring!) and used Memento black, Peeled Paint Ink
and copics to to bring the color in this card to life! A bit of Twinery
twine, buttons from my stash (got them at TM recently....might be
around to find!) and a few dots of liquid pearls in baby blue to finish
off the cute egg!

I'm playing a lot with this versatile set....I'll have another post up
tomorrow....so make sure to check back soon!!

Playin' along....

This card is for a challenge over on the BoBunny website. They
have a "Card Challenge Tuesday" almost every week! You can
find the blog HERE.

The challenge this week.....to use your BoBunny Stamps! Well,
I had not even broken the seal on this pack from the Timepiece
collection...for shame!!! The pocket watch and corner stamps are
stunning! Here, I stamped the pocket watch twice...cut and pasted
the face after inking with Black Soot and Vintage Photo. I stamped
on the clock hands (also in this set) and then added a small brad
to the center. Then came the glossy accents. I was careful to avoid
the brad top....I liked that look. An assortment of BoBunny Timepiece
embellies (bling, rub ons, chipboard, wraps) were the finishing touches
I did add a punched border with a new MS punch I just picked up....
it's so lacey....love it!

Thanks for stoppin' by.....and remember to get inky today!
