A Quick Flutterby....

Have a quick card I whipped up this evening....I almost
ran out of time of the SFYTT again!  Here is the sketch:

And here is the card.....I did get to play with one
of the MME 6x6 paper pads coming out.....

I inked up some Skipping Stones Designs stamps
(Butterfly Kisses) and embossed in aqua Zing, then
added a soft background with Distress Inks in
Scattered Straw, Wild Honey, and Ripe Persimmon.
Ribbon is AC, twine is Trendy Twine.  Also used
Recollections pearls, Spellbinders Eyelet Circles die.

Sometimes quick and simple is a very good thing!

Color is Funny....

You know....I wouldn't be caught dead wearing the color
yellow.  But in crafting....it is one of my absolutely faves!
That's so funny to me....don't know, maybe I'm alone in
that....lol.

But I do have another card that will be up today over
at Practical Scrappers.  If you haven't checked them
out....they have being doing a fun "10 things you can
do with______"  this week, it's bling/stickles.  It's a fun
series.  So without further ado......

I used the Authentique Blissful collection, my Martha punch,
Waltzingmouse stamps (the sentiment, and the sentiment
frame), Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two, and Recollections
pearls.  Ink was Black Soot Distress Ink.

So I'm off....got some crafting to do.....remember to get
a little inky fun in for yourself today!

Time to Craft!!

Do you ever find it hard to carve out a little "you" time?
With my son heading to college, and my mom visiting,
and football starting....it's not always easy to find some
crafting time!  But I always manage to sneak a little in
there!  Here's a wedding card I did....it's up over at
Practical Scrappers today:

I wanted to keep it somewhat clean and simple....love
that paper (it's the new Carta Bella Beautiful Moments)
and the Samantha Walker Spellbinders die is just soft
enough to give it simple elegance.  I did use the Fancy
Tags dies as well, and Recollection Pearls, and AC
ribbon are the finishing touches.  The sentiment is
a Waltzing Mouse stamp...and I did put some
texture in there, running the grey die cut thru my
Cuttlebug with the damask Sizzix embossing folder.

So even if it's something simple.....take some time
to craft....what will you make today?

Just a sampling of the fun to be had at CHA!!  Lots of classes,
parties, and people to meet!  Hoping to get back into the swing
with some creating....really inspired by CHA!

Playdate.....

Yep....I have a playdate today....lol.  We're never too old

we drop!  Do a little late lunch/early dinner....fun right?
Good way to stay cool in this 100 degree plus weather!

Well another playdate is in the mix today.....color inspiration
Challenge # 139 from the Playdate Cafe:

Cool metallics for these HOT days!  Here is the card I
was inspired to make:

The colors were GOLD (my star...gold embossed Unity
Stamp on gold MM slice paper, and the gold embossed
sentiment)....NUDE (my cardstock...tho' it is ever so hard
to tell...still experimenting with lighting for these light colored
cards!)....SILVER (the silver Kaiserkraft rhinestones).

So cool metallics on a hot day....what could be sweeter?
Oh yeah...a playdate!....lol.  So you can play too....find
Playdate Cafe HERE.

Do your best to stay cooooooool....maybe find a playdate!

Daring to Be Different.....

Now those of you that frequent my blog, know I love a challenge!
I love playing with them, and I know a lot of people have found a
great new challenge site here....just like I've found them from you!

Well one of the things I love, is giving a challenge your own "flair".

Today's challenge was JustRite Stampers Challenge #076-
"Stars and Stripes" (find it HERE).  The challenge was to use
stars and stripes of course...lol....and it COULD be red, white
and blue....or you could go with something different.  I chose
different (shocker I know!).

I came up with this little beauty:

My stars....around the die cut circle mat....and the stick pins,
the stripes...the striped ruler paper along the side....kinda
different from what you'd expect for a more elegant card--
keeping with my "different" theme....that's what makes
crafting fun!  The sentiment is from JustRite Vintage Floral
Labels...I stamped it twice...punched out the second and
glossy accented it up, popped it on with foam tape.  That
gorgeous stamped scroll work is from the Vintage Floral
Labels set also...I centered it over my stamped sentiment
on my die cut circle....and it framed the sentiment out nicely!

Recipe List:
JustRite Vintage Floral Labels
Spellbinders Star Circles and Classic Circles
Authentique Blissful 6x6
Archival Ink:  Black
Distress Ink:  Scattered Straw and Black Soot
Maya Rd. Star Pins
Recollections and Studio G pearls
Recollections bling swirls
Glossy Accents
Organza Ribbon  (CTMH)

So have you gotten your challenge on today?  It's so HOT outside....
stay inside and play with something cooooool.....
